Cost range across the world
Following are the recommended price ranges for different countries:
(Developed Nation) USA - $500 to $10,000
(Developing Nation) India - $114 to $1,000
(Under Developed Nation) Bangladesh - $250 to $1250
Above mentioned are recommended range. For example if you happen to work with an Indian designer. And they quote anything between $114 to $1000 and you do not know anything about logo design - you still cannot go wrong. You will be getting your money’s worth.

What is Recommended Range?
Logo Design can be done on multiple budgets, But there is a recommended range. Beyond which if you go, it will be of negative consequences. Be it above or below the recommended range.
Below Recommended Range
When you go below the range, you end up working with designers who only know the tool and can only deliver files of a logo Design Project. They do not know what is right. So you end up with a logo that ruins your first impression as a brand.
Above Recommended Range
When you go above the range, you end up working with agencies that provide you no real gains in terms of the price you are spending. Risk of getting scammed for a huge amount of money is massive.
For example, this AI tool called lovable, went through a rebranding phase. What they end up receiving is quite a shame. They received a logo design that in form is to similar to another brand called “The better India”. And in terms of color it takes heavily from instagram.
However, there are exceptionally good designers but those are rare. As a client you will not be able to judge that, because you do not have developed that sensitivity towards shapes. Someone who has done a lot of sketching might have that.
Sweet Spot
When you stay in the recommended range you end up with Logos that are timeless.

Logo Design Cost (Agency)
Pricing for agency is similar, but most agency tend to fall out of the recommended range.
Either they fall below the recommended range or above. And we do not know who is doing the design. Because in the end it’s the Designer and their motivation that matters.
Which brings us to an important point, motivation of an employee in an agency is way too low. If as a client you get to deal with design managers and not the actual designers. That’s a sign - that this agency has a shortage of designers and many people are hired just to coordinate with clients but not enough designers to do the job.
One of the exception in theFutur group. They are structured way to differently. I highly recommend their work. Working with them might cost you $18,000 for a logo. But if you can afford it, it will be of that quality.
Which one is best for you?
Agency vs Freelancer?
I recommend working with a freelancer over agency. Motivation plays a huge role in bringing out the best design from a designer. If they are not motivated enough, they will not do a good job.
A freelancer who does good job get’s their next job through recommendations. They are highly motivated. While on the other hand someone in an agency is just doing work for the monthly paychecks.
Working with agencies have many other issues as well.
Cheap vs Expensive?
If you are not sure, go with expensive designer within the recommended range mentioned above. But make sure to go for a cheaper economy. You will be utilizing the difference in purchasing power to your advantage.
And because you are paying them so well, they will put their best effort in your design. And motivation will be super high.
If you cannot afford the expensive design in a cheaper economy, then go for cheap designer in a developed nation. Aesthetic sense of designer in a developed nation is better just by exposure.
The reason I have provided a recommended range here is just to tell you, that if you stay within this you are getting a decent logo design at the lowest point of range and a very well designed logo at the higher end of this.
